Just Escape Medieval Walkthrough: Levels 1 - 7

This is a walkthrough/guide for the android game Just Escape. Your task is to escape from every room by unlocking the door someway. I will show you what items you need to collect to get out of each room in levels 1 to 7 in the medieval part. Pictures are provided for some of the more complex puzzles.

Room 1

First of all, I'm going to list all the items we need to collect from this room:
  • Satchel - on the bench to the left.
  • Flint - Under the satchel.
  • Candle - right side of the room, on top of a barrel.
Now, go to your inventory and dismantel the satchel, you will receive a flint steel. Select both the flint steel and the flint and combine them to get a fire striker.

Use the fire striker on the lumber in the fireplace to set it ablaze. Now, use the candle on the fire to get a lit candle.
Select the lit candle and light both torches that surround the suit of armor. Once they are both ablaze, the knight will drop a key from his hands.

Pick up the key and use it to unlock the door.

Room 2

Items to collect:
  • Axe - hanging on the left wall.
  • Drinking horn - right under the axe, on top of the fireplace.
  • Sword - hanging on the right wall.
Now, move the the bucket that is in front of the chest by tapping on it. Select the axe from your inventory and use it on the chest to break the lock. Open the chest for some gold.

Dismantle the drinking horn you got and you will get a locket. Dismantle the locket to get a note.

The note pictures a knight surrounded by gold. So select the gold from you inventory and use it on the knights outreached hand. That will make him drop his spear. Collect the spear.

Use the spear on the barrel left of the door to poke a hole into it. That will cause water to pour into the bowl. Use your drinking horn on the water bowl.

You now have a drinking horn with water, which you can use on the fire to put it out. That reveals a key in the fireplace, but it's too hot to touch.

Use the sword on the knight to cut yourself some cloth. Use the piece of cloth in your inventory to pick up the key from the fireplace and then use the key on the door to escape.

Room 3

No items to collect in this one. There is a four digit color code instead of a lock.

To figure out the code you have to look at all the shields on the wall, there will be similar symbols with different backgrounds. You have to compare the symbols with each other and find the odd one out and use his background as the code.

The first shield has four suns on it, the lower right one has less petals than the rest. So the first part of the door code is horizontal blue stripes.

The second shield has three lion heads. The bottom lion has one eye closed, so it's the different one. So the second part of the code is plain red color.

The third shield has four lions, the upper left is different because the fingers are different than the rest. So the third part of the code is vertical red stripes.

The fourth shield has four eagles, all eagles, except the upper right are wearing crowns. So the fourth part of the code is vertical blue stripes.

Enter the code by sliding up or down on the color boxes.

Room 4

Items to collect:
  • Mallet - in the middle part of the bookshelf.
  • A shield and a half - In the drawer in the lower part of the bookshelf.
  • A book - In the upper part of the bookshelf.
  • A shield - behind the broom in the leftmost part of the room.
  • Another shield - on top of the bookshelf.
  • Part of a shield - under the bench with candles upon it.
Use the mallet to smash the pot on the right to get another shield part.

Select the book in your inventory and dismantle it to get a chisel. Combine the mallet and the chisel to get stonework tools.

Tap on the lion banner on the right wall to move it out of the way, then use the stonwork tools on the cracked wall. You will find another shield inside.

There are two cracked floor tiles as well, use stoneworks tool on them to get a shield and a part of a shield.

Select all the complete shields in your inventory and use them on the respective pieces on the wall to attach them. Then combine the yellow/green shield parts and the red/silver shield parts. You have two more full shields that you must attach to the wall.

There is a code written in the book in your inventory: 396. When you tap on a shield on the wall a certain number of candles will be lit, so every shield corresponds to a certain number. Tap on each shield to see how many candles they light up, note which ones have 3, 9 and 6. Use these shields in the door code.

Room 5

This one is really easy. The answer to the door is the number of all red background symbols on a shield when counting from the left.

The first shield has 2 suns with a red background.
The second has 1 crown.
The third has none, so it doesn't count.
The fourth has 2 trees.
The fifth has 1 scale.
The sixth has 4 (three trees and 1 tower)

That gives us the code 21214

Room 6

Items to collect:
  • Cloth - from the table to the left.
  • 2 wall tiles - from the left side of the room, they are brighter than the normal wall tiles.
  • Step ladder - to the left of the door, resting on the wall.
  • Broom - to the right of the door, in the corner.
Use the step ladder on the right wall to place it. There are 2 more wall tiles to be collected on the right wall. Now with the ladder in place you can collect both of them. (One is really high)

Select the piece of cloth from your inventory and use it on the water bowl to make it wet. Combine the wet rag with all 4 wall tiles in your inventory to clean them up.

Use your broom in the middle of the floor to get rid of the dirt. Tap on the floor, to see a pattern puzzle. Place the clean wall tiles to their respective places ( there are symbols in the middle of the tiles to help place them).

Now you have to tap on every piece to rotate them to their right place. Use the corners of the tile as a guideline, some 4 tiles form a circle or a half-circle in the middle. (Picture below)

If you assemble it correctly, then the floor will move to reveal a key that you can use to escape the room.

Room 7

There are a bunch of axes scattered in this room. Here are their locations:
  • Two crossed axes - mounted on the left wall.
  • Double-sided battleaxe - resting on the left wall, below the crossed axes.
  • Axe - Tap on the hay in the left upper corner to move it out of the way and reveal an axe.
  • Another axe - sticking out from the hay.
  • Large axe - tap on the on the left to move it away and reveal the axe.
  • Another axe - resting on the right wall, behind the boxes
  • A mace - in front of the boxes, resting on them.
There is one axe hidden in the box to the right. Use one of your previously obtained axes on the box to cut it out.

There are four wall mounts for weapons next to the door. Every mount is shaped like the blade of the axe that needs to go there. Check your inventory and place the axes on the wall according to the shape of their blade.
